Epsilon performed the perimeter air monitoring of VOCs and PAHs during the initial remediation of a former coal tar processing facility in the Island End River.  Results were compared to the MADEP Air Toxic Guidelines.  The VOCs were collected using SUMMA Canisters (TO-14) while the PAHs were collected using PUF samplers (TO-13a).

Epsilon installed and operates a meteorological monitoring system for a Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) incinerator as part of the facility's air permit. Epsilon is responsible for maintaining and calibrating the system, downloading the meteorological data, and preparing quarterly reports of data including monthly summaries and wind roses.

Epsilon prepared an ambient air quality monitoring plan for the existing Southbridge Landfill as part of the landfill gas and odor management requirements.  MA DEP approval was obtained for the sampling locations and equipment specifications of three fixed hydrogen sulfide (H2S) monitoring systems and an on-site meteorological station.  Dispersion modeling was used to specify the appropriate detection limits for the H2S equipment.
