Epsilon assisted the Newton Parks and Recreation Department by providing wetland consulting and permitting services for improvements at the Crystal Lake bathing beach and bathhouse located on Rogers Street in Newton, MA.  These improvements included but were not limited to the use of a water circulation system, beach nourishment activities and the installation of a float system.

Epsilon is providing construction-monitoring services to the Newton Conservation Commission pursuant to a DEP Superseding Order of Conditions that authorized construction of five radio towers in designated rare species habitat as well as the buffer zone of a bordering vegetated wetland and certified vernal pool.  The proposed work occurs near the actual habitat of a rare and endangered species, the blue spotted salamander (Ambystoma laterale).  Epsilon services include regular on-site inspections, review of weekly construction monitoring reports prepared by the project proponent’s wetland scientist, and oversight of the proponent’s rare species monitoring  program

Epsilon drafted major revisions to the Town of North Andover’s Wetland Protection Bylaw and Regulations, including the creation of new regulations specific to Riverfront Area and the DEP Stormwater Management Policy.  The modifications to the bylaw and regulations provided a structured, scientifically defensible approach consistent with the state wetland regulations.  Epsilon assisted the Conservation Commission and their staff in the presentation of the Bylaw and Regulations to Town Meeting where they were approved.  The bylaw was subsequently approved by the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General.
