In May 2001, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) granted a variance from the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and Water Quality Certification regulations for the Provincetown Municipal Airport Improvement Project. This decision authorized the upgrade of the approach light system, construction of an FAA access roadway, and the construction of runway safety areas based on an overriding public interest in addressing the need for regional safety improvements. Project: Wetland Monitoring at Bentley College, Waltham, MA
Client: Geller - DeVellis, Inc.

Epsilon collected water quality samples and monitored five wetland replication areas that were constructed as mitigation for wetland impacts associated with a major track and field development at Bentley College in Waltham, MA. Epsilon collected data documenting existing soil types, hydrologic conditions and the approximate percent cover of native wetland plant species in each replication area. Water quality samples collected by Epsilon were forwarded to a state certified laboratory and evaluated for nitrates, phosphates and total suspended solids. Reports summarizing the results of Epsilon’s work were submitted to the Waltham Conservation Commission. A Certificate of Compliance was subsequently issued by the Conservation Commission.
