Project: Plymouth Municipal Airport, Plymouth, MA
Client: Plymouth Airport Commission

Epsilon prepared an ENF/EA for airport improvements, including installation of navigational aids and construction of a roadway providing access to new hangar buildings. Key environmental issues include potential wetland impacts resulting from tree canopy clearing to remove obstructions and impacts to rare bird habitat. The Secretary of Environmental Affairs did not require an EIR for the project. Epsilon secured a Conservation and Management Permit from the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife allowing the project’s potential impacts on grassland birds.

Epsilon prepared an extensive alternative analysis demonstrating the appropriateness of the selected site, despite the presence of habitat for a significant population of blue spotted salamander, a state-listed species. Epsilon coordinated review of rare species issues with NHESP, and obtained a Conservation Permit for the project. The new high school opened in September 2003.
