Power
Project: Peaker Station, Queens, NY
Client: FPL Energy
Epsilon provided ambient noise monitoring and modeling for the support of two power production units located in Queens, NY in support of the NY State Environmental Quality Review Act.  We developed the noise sampling and modeling protocol, implemented the program and prepared the necessary reports.  Epsilon developed appropriate mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with state and local noise regulations, and provided post-construction compliance testing.
Project: Noise Compliance Services, Milford, CT
Client: Milford Power, LLC
Epsilon provided post-construction ambient sound level measurements for a 544 MW combined-cycle gas-fired electric generating facility for compliance with State noise regulations.  High-pressure steam blow noise was also measured during construction and assessed for community impacts.  We are providing noise mitigation assessment services to reduce transformer noise prior to plant start-up.
Project: Noise Permitting Services, Revere, MA
Client: Trigen Energy Corporation
Epsilon provided ambient noise monitoring and modeling support for the MADEP permitting of two 3000 kW internal combustion engines supplying steam and electricity to a confectionary products plant.  The modeling work involved extensive collaboration with many equipment vendors to obtain detailed sound level mitigation data from the various air pollution control equipment, as well as calculating the impact from the other ancillary project sources to meet stringent regulatory requirements.
