Epsilon provided ambient noise monitoring, project noise modeling, public presentation at local Planning Board meetings, and expert witness testimony in state land court for a regional cross-dock distribution facility. Sound level impacts from project trucking activities 24-hours/day, seven days/week were evaluated. Mitigation measures, including earthen berms and a sound barrier wall, were recommended to reduce noise from the facility.

Epsilon provided noise monitoring, modeling, and mitigation evaluation services in support of a Draft Project Impact Report/Single Environmental Impact Report (DPIR/SEIR). The development is a 440-room full-service hotel, two residential buildings with a total of 460 apartment units, and a single below-grade parking garage. The project is located in South Boston near Logan International Airport, and encountered significant noise issues from aircraft and nearby truck traffic.

Epsilon has performed sound level analyses for rooftop mechanical systems, truck deliveries, store-generated vehicular traffic, and trash compactor operations, for over 60 new retail stores in MA, CT, NH, ME, RI, NY, and NJ. Mitigation design and recommendations were offered to meet local and state noise regulations. The results of the noise impact assessments were presented to local boards to secure site plan approval from the community.
