Epsilon developed a three dimensional model of the Clock Tower Place office park, using SketchUp design software.  The rendering was created using aerial photography as a basemap, which was imported into SketchUp from the Google Earth software.  Building footprints and other features were extruded to their approximate heights.  The 3-D rendering can be re-inserted into Google Earth for visualization on the landscape.

Epsilon's GIS division provides a rich suite of 3-D illustration and visual impact assessment services for clients.  The staff uses ESRI products, including ArcGIS Extensions, ArcScene, and ArcGlobe, to perform viewshed analyses, line-of-site profiles, and terrain analysis.  SketchUp design software is a powerful tool for rendering proposed buildings &  structures, simulating vegetation plantings for visual impact mitigatation, and performing shadow studies.  A strong advatage of SketchUp is its ability to work within the GIS environment.  Data models can be imported and exported between SketchUp and ESRI's ArGIS, as well as Google Earth for 3-D visualization on the landscape.

Epsilon has provided "before and after" photo simulations for infrastructure projects for clients in the energy, real estate, and industrial sectors.  Detailed visual impact assessments have been performed to fullfill state permit requirements for wind power siting and quarry operation expansion.  These GIS services are extremely valuable in the planning stages of projects, to determine visual critieria and siting contraints, long before project permitting begins.
