Massachusetts Historic
Preservation Conference 2013
September 10, 2013
Epsilon is a lead sponsor for the Massachusetts Historic Preservation Conference presented by the Massachusetts Preservation Coalition. The conference is being held on October 18th in Lexington, Massachusetts and will cover current issues, best practices, and preservation fundamentals. The conference will include opening remarks from Secretary of the Commonwealth William Francis Galvin, State Senators Kenneth J. Donnelly and Michael Barrett, and State Representative Jay R. Kaufman.
In addition to sponsoring, Epsilon Associate Maureen Cavanaugh and Senior Consultant Taya Dixon will be speaking during two of the sessions at the conference. Maureen will be speaking during one of the morning sessions entitled “Current Challenges in Applying the Secretary of Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation.” This session will include case studies introducing both the basics of the Standards and current issues and solutions related to following the Standards in adaptive re-use projects. Taya will be speaking during one of the afternoon sessions, entitled “Evaluation: A Cornerstone of Preservation.” This session will use case studies to look at a variety of recent challenges in evaluation, including the application of National Register criteria considerations, issues of integrity, property types, and revisiting early National Register nominations.
