Over the course of his distinguished career, Rob played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of Epsilon, most notably as the founder of the firm’s Acoustics Group in 2000. What began as a one-person group has grown under his leadership into a nationally respected team of10 scientists and engineers, recognized for their work on renewable energy, construction materials, solid waste facilities, electrical substations, industrial, and commercial projects.

A Certified Consulting Meteorologist and INCE Board Certified professional, Rob brought over 38 years of experience to his work in community noise impact assessments, meteorological data analysis, and air quality modeling. He is widely regarded as a national expert in acoustics for renewable energy, having conducted noise assessments for wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects in more than 25 states and in Canada. His expertise also spans fossil fuel power facilities, substations and transmission lines, gas pipelines, hard rock quarries, asphalt and concrete plants, transfer stations and landfills, and a wide array of industrial and infrastructure projects.

Since his promotion to Co-Managing Principal in 2017, Rob has overseen Epsilon’s day-to-day business operations, helping to strengthen internal processes and ensure sustainable growth during a time of industry evolution and increased demand for energy-related services.

“It’s hard to name just one highlight, but looking back, founding the acoustics group here at Epsilon and watching it grow into what it is today – supporting projects all across the country – is definitely at the top of the list,” said Rob. “I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done, and I’m looking forward to spending more time with family, traveling, and enjoying the next chapter of what life has in store for me.”

Michael Howard, PWS, CWS, Co-Managing Principal of Epsilon, reflected on Rob’s retirement: “We are deeply grateful for Rob’s many years of visionary leadership, technical expertise, and mentorship. His impact on our firm and on the industry is lasting, and we wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.”

In honor of Rob’s retirement, Epsilon hosted a celebration on June 12, with colleagues, friends, and founding principals in attendance to recognize his contributions and legacy.
