January 19, 2015
Mike Howard, Principal and Manager of Epsilon’s Ecological Sciences Group, was recently invited to make presentations to the South Shore Conservation Commission Network (SSCN) and the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts (REBA).
At the December 11th SSCN meeting Mike discussed MassDEP’s Bordering Vegetated Wetland (BVW) Delineation Manual and reviewed the pertinent sections of the BVW delineation forms that conservation agents and commissioners should be familiar with during their review of proposed BVW boundaries.
On December 17th, REBA held its Environmental Committee meeting in Boston, Massachusetts. As an invited speaker, Mike along with Mark Manganello of LEC Environmental, provided an update on MassDEP regulatory reforms to the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and Section 401 Water Quality Certification regulations including a discussion of the potential permitting implications associated with the reforms. Mike and Mark also described the anticipated modifications to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers General Permit for Massachusetts that is scheduled to be issued later this month.
