U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Issues Final Rule to Protect Northern Long-Eared Bat

Please be advised, to protect the Northern Long-Eared Bat, the U.S.
Fish and Wildlife Service issued a final rule today pursuant to the
Endangered Species Act. The rule uses flexibilities under section
4(d) of the Endangered Species Act to tailor protections to areas
affected by white-nose syndrome during the Northern Long-Eared
Bat’s most sensitive life stages. The final rule will appear in the
Federal Register on January 14, 2016 and takes effect on
February 16, 2016.
