Geoff Melhuish Selected as Approved Assessor for the Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) Program
March 28, 2017
Geoff Melhuish, Senior Preservation Planner with Epsilon’s Historic Preservation Group has been selected as an Approved Assessor for the Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) Program administered by the American Institute for Conservation (AIC) of Historic and Artistic Works. Geoff was selected due to his many years of professional training in architectural conservation/preservation and experience conducting building conservation assessments throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic.
The CAP program provides small and mid-sized museums with funding toward a general conservation assessment of the selected institution's buildings, building systems, collections, as well as its policies and procedures relating to the buildings and collections care. A CAP assessment may assist the selected institution by providing specific recommendations and priorities for building and collections care; facilitating the development of long-range preservation plans, and serving as a fundraising tool.
