At Epsilon, we take great pride in celebrating the professional accomplishments of our team members. Our success is built on the expertise and dedication of our people, and we encourage continuous learning and career development across all disciplines. Recently, two Epsilon employees achieved significant professional milestones by earning advanced certifications in their respective fields – the Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) and the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designations.

In June, Katana completed the final step toward earning her GISP certification – a respected credential that recognizes technical expertise, ethical practice, and commitment to the GIS profession. Achieving this designation is no small feat; it requires at least four years of professional experience, successful completion of the GISCI Core Technical Exam, and approval through a rigorous Portfolio Review process.

The Portfolio Review evaluates an applicant’s educational background, professional experience, and contributions to the GIS field through activities such as volunteering, presentations, and publications. Applicants must demonstrate engagement and achievement in these categories, earning at least 150 points through a standardized scoring system. Meanwhile, the Core Technical Exam – which is software agnostic and based on the Geospatial Technology Competency Model (GTCM) – tests a candidate’s broad understanding of geospatial concepts, technologies, and applications.

For Katana, earning the GISP credential is both a professional milestone and a personal achievement. It represents years of hands-on experience, continuous learning, and active engagement with the GIS community. Beyond strengthening Epsilon’s GIS capabilities and competitiveness, this certification reflects Katana’s passion for her work – from networking with peers and attending industry workshops, to mentoring colleagues and contributing to Epsilon’s collaborative culture.

Epsilon congratulates Krystal for earning her SHRM-CP certification, a globally recognized credential that highlights leadership and expertise across all core areas of human resources. Krystal’s educational background includes a BS in Psychology from Bridgewater State University, an MS in Human Resource Management from Capella University, and a Leadership Essentials certificate from Cornell University. She also holds an Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) certification and brings over six years of HR experience, including her early work in retail management.

The SHRM-CP certification process is rigorous, requiring candidates to demonstrate a deep understanding of HR principles and practical application. The exam assesses HR-specific knowledge, situational judgment, and leadership across key functional areas such as people, organization, workplace, and business acumen. This comprehensive assessment ensures that certified professionals are prepared to navigate complex HR challenges with confidence and integrity.

For Krystal, achieving the SHRM-CP marks an important step in her ongoing professional journey and reinforces her dedication to supporting Epsilon’s employees and organizational success. Her continued pursuit of education and certification strengthens Epsilon’s culture of excellence and helps ensure that our people, policies, and programs reflect best practices in human resources and employee development.

Epsilon applauds both Katana and Krystal for their impressive achievements. Their dedication to professional growth and excellence embodies Epsilon’s values and commitment to fostering a knowledgeable, empowered, and collaborative team. We are honored to celebrate their success and look forward to the continued impact of their expertise across the company.
