Boston Development Projects Moving Forward
February 21, 2013
On February 14, 2013, the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) approved the Nashua Street Residences for North Station. This project and others approved by BRA will help to create 1,400 new jobs and more than $325 million investments in the City of Boston. Epsilon assisted AvalonBay Communities with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) environmental permitting for this 32-story project, which will bring 503 residential units and a 2-story public, retail arcade to the North Station area. The development team also includes CBT Architects, Exclusive Real Estate, and Goulston & Storrs.
In other development news, Boston Development Group is looking to start construction on the $175 million mixed-use Merano project in Bulfinch Triangle this summer. Epsilon prepared the BRA Article 80 Large Project Review, MEPA, and Massachusetts Historical Commission submittals for this project located on parcels made available for development by the Big Dig. Epsilon also managed the preparation of the BRA’s Article 37 compliance document showing how the project will achieve certifiability under the LEED rating system. This 500,000-square-foot project will have 231 rental apartments, a 219-key Courtyard Marriott, 9,000 square feet of retail (including two restaurants), and parking.
