POSITION SUMMARY

Epsilon is seeking a full-time staff scientist or engineer to work as part of the Epsilon team on a wide range of environmental licensing, permitting and compliance projects. This position will encompass work primarily in the Acoustics Group.

In the Acoustics Group, the successful candidate will assist with community sound level measurement programs, meteorological data collection, data analysis, shadow flicker analyses for wind turbines, sound level modeling, and report preparation. This position requires periodic field work as well as overnight, out-of-state travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 0-3 years of experience in a consulting environment,
  • B.S. or B.A. in Acoustics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Physics,
  • Experience in using sound level measurement equipment,
  • Experience with the CadnaA software,
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, and
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB

The Candidate must:

  • Be able to work safely outside in variable weather conditions for an extended period of time, as necessary,
  • Work on a computer for extended periods of time,
  • Be able to travel outside of the state via plane or car, for extended period of time, and
  • Be able to carry 50 pounds for an extended period of time.
