Epsilon Associates Looks Forward to ACP's "Offshore WINDPOWER 2023" Next Week in Boston

September 27th, 2023

Epsilon Associates will be busy supporting the burgeoning offshore wind industry at next week’s American Clean Power (ACP) Offshore WINDPOWER Conference & Exhibition in Boston.

Epsilon specializes in securing environmental approvals for large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, including offshore wind development. A major provider of environmental permitting services to the North American offshore wind market, the Epsilon Offshore Wind team developed the first Construction and Operations Plan (COP) filed with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) for the current generation of utility-scale US offshore wind projects. In May 2021, Vineyard Wind 1 received its Record of Decision (ROD) from the U.S. Department of the Interior BOEM, the final major step in the federal review process. Epsilon has since developed or is in the process of developing six additional COPs for offshore wind projects located in waters off New England and the Mid-Atlantic (see Table 1). The firm is also beginning work on the early phases of development of offshore wind on the West coast.

Epsilon Offshore Wind Group Principal Maria Hartnett and Associate Jill Rowe will help lead and participate on a panel discussion entitled “Gusts of Glory: Implementing Permitting Lessons Learned into the Federal Permitting Process.” Taking place on October 4th, the session will describe how the permitting process has changed from the earlier U.S. offshore projects, including Vineyard Wind 1 and South Fork Wind, and identify key lessons learned and/or provide guidance to other projects in the initial phases of permitting and pre-construction.

Epsilon is also pleased to be a lead sponsor for Boston Offshore Wind Drinks to be held on Tuesday, October 3rd featuring the offshore industry’s very own band, Making Wind.

Please stop by our booth #513 and/or schedule visits with Epsilon staff attending the conference, including Maria and Jill, as well as Offshore Wind Group Principal John Zimmer, Senior Consultant Caitlin Hamer, and Senior Engineer Abbegail Nack. We look forward to seeing you!
