Braintree, Massachusetts
Epsilon led the environmental analysis and licensing effort for Braintree Electric Light Department’s (BELD’s) Thomas A. Watson Generating Station. The 116-megawatt simple cycle facility, which commenced operation on June 23, 2009, includes two dual fuel quick start Rolls Royce Trent 60 gas turbines and ancillary equipment.
Epsilon assisted BELD in preparing the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act filings including both the Draft and Final Environmental Impact Reports. Epsilon also provided assistance with the project’s review under a full Energy Facilities Siting Board process, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Prevention of Significant Deterioration permit, and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Major Source Air Plan review.
Epsilon worked on this project from the planning stage through start up, assisting with emissions reporting and noise testing.
